There are a lot of things that are exciting about turning twenty. I will no longer be a teenager, I will be half way done with college, and most importantly, I’ll be that much closer to 21. As I’m approaching my last few days of being a “teen”, there are a lot of things I loved about being 19.
I love that I can eat donuts with sprinkles and no guilt. I love that my time spent in a car is going to new restaurants and exploring new places, rather than commuting to a job I hate. I love that I have time to spend on learning new things whether it’s spanish, cooking, or longboarding. I love watching my boyfriend longboard. I love that I still don’t know how to control my emotions because at least I’m still passionate, and sometimes it’s good to care a little too much. I love swimming, and not just laying in a raft in the pool swimming. I love racing, diving sticks, and playing every pool game known to mankind. I love my car, nothing beats the messy hair from an open car. I love that I get to live in California, while still calling Las Vegas home. I love leaving my house at 3 a.m. to go on trips because plane tickets are just a little bit cheaper and traffic is a little less bad. I love going to the movies every single week, even if the movie is terrible. I love being nineteen, I may not have the freedoms of being an adult, but I’ll take the perks of being nineteen any day.
